Site Builder 

General labour and fabricator carrying out a number for jobs, planned maintenance, fabrication to assist site with its daily running operations 

Main Responsibility

The Site Builder is responsible for carrying out building, maintenance, and refurbishment work across the factory site to support safe and efficient poultry production operations. This role involves general construction, repairs, installations, and improvement projects within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment while maintaining strict hygiene and health & safety standards.

  • Carry out general building and maintenance work across the factory site, including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, drainage, and external structures.
  • Complete refurbishment and construction projects within production and non-production areas.
  • Install and repair fixtures, partitions, cladding, flooring, and site infrastructure.
  • Support factory expansion and layout modification projects.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Hygiene, Production, and Health & Safety teams to minimise disruption to operations.
  • Ensure all work complies with food safety, hygiene, and company standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in safe working condition.
  • Conduct inspections and identify structural or maintenance issues proactively.
  • Follow permit-to-work systems and site safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist contractors and external trades where required.
  • Keep accurate records of completed work and maintenance activities.
  • Respond to urgent repair requests to maintain operational continuity.

Hours are 42hrs per week, Mon - Fri, Overtime is paid at time and a half after completion of the 42hrs

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in construction, building maintenance, facilities, or industrial site work.
  • Skilled in general building trades such as carpentry, brickwork, plastering, flooring, or metalwork.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, food production, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and factory shutdown projects.
