Proactive Maintenance Engineer (Weekends)

Job Introduction

Come and join us!  We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Proactive Maintenance Engineer (Weekends) to join our team in Scunthorpe.

• This post is working permanent weekends, from Friday - Sunday 
• The role works rotational days and nights - 0600 - 1800/1800 - 0600
• The rate of pay is £46,00 - £50,000 depending on skill set
• 17 days annual leave

Main Responsibility

As a Proactive Maintenance Engineer (Weekends) at our Scunthorpe site you will drive the PPM completion on the weekend, ensuring the sites maintenance reliability and helping to drive our aim to move away from reactive maintenance. 

You will:

• Complete maintenance activities
• Deliver engineering excellence 
• Ensure compliance with quality processes
• Proactively identify, solve and report concerns around the site to help drive improvement 
• Generate and record all activity through departmental systems, helping to support proactive working and traceability
• Generate follow on work orders and parts requests where necessary
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and take responsibility for your own Health and Safety
• Help generate and maintain compliance with SOP's, Risk Assessments, and Permit to work systems

The Ideal Candidate

As our ideal Proactive Maintenance Engineer (Weekends), you will have the following skills:

Essential

• CMMS knowledge
• Mechanical and Electrical comprehension skills
• Fault finding skills
• Problem solving skills
• Risk assessment trained
• Permit to work trained
• Full understanding of safe working practices and relevant legislation where applicable
• Accuracy/attention to detail
• Knowledge of COSHH
• Problem solving techniques

Desirable:

• Experience of engineering maintenance/planning in a similar FMCG environment
• Green belt trained (Six Sigma)

Personal:

• Be able to liase and communicate with all levels of staff
• Good organisational skills
• Be able to plan your work to suit business requirements
• Be a forward thinker
