We currently have exciting opportunities for flexible Production Operative's to join the team of Skilled Knife operatives at our site, working Mondays and Tuesdays, with additional shifts available to cover holidays and peak periods. Flexibility is essential, as you will be expected to provide holiday cover when required.
The hours of work and shift patterns are:
5:45 - 13:45 Mondays and Tuesdays, with occasional extra days to cover holidays
The rates of pay are: £12.75
Main Responsibility
- Turning thigh into fillet by removing parts of the product using knife
- Manually debone breast fillet on the cone line
- Safe use of knives, maintaining health and safety standards
- Must be able to contribute towards achieving the product targets set for the day by working at a consistent work rate
- Understanding the importance of yield and the cost associated
- Must be aware of the surrounding environment and the potential hazards that could cause harm to yourself or your peers
- Must ensure that waste is kept to a minimum through a good quality of cut
- Correctly and effectively carry out the required functions, once trained to do so, in the cutting hall
- Ensure that all areas of training in basic food hygiene, health and safety and product quality are adhered to
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and presentation during working hours
- Produce each product to specification
- Maintain Health and Safety standards in accordance with Company Policy and all relevant legislative documentation – actively encouraging health and safety awareness with other operatives and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ensure work practices minimise the risk of product contamination

The Ideal Candidate
- Ability to use a knife/butchery or willing to learn – full training will be provided
- Good spoken English is essential
- To work as part of a team and effectively communicate with all colleagues and Management staff
- Meet all customer requirements & meet the standards expected
- Thorough and Methodical
- Self-motivated
- Able to maintain high personal standards
- Comfortable working in a pressurised environment and able to meet tight deadlines
