Engineering Supervisor

Job Introduction

This will be a 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights shift pattern. You need to have the desire to lead, inspire and communicate effectively.

Main Responsibility

·       Ensure all relevant health and food safety standards are always followed

·       Monitor and address behaviour of the team e.g. PPE, time management, housekeeping, workmanship standards, staff absence etc

·       Ensure that the workshop is always audit ready

·       Take ownership for ensuring contractors are effectively managed whilst on site, acting as permit controller when required

·       Be the on-site first point of contact for Engineering concerns

·       Ensure replacements parts are ordered in a timely manner with relevant documents fully completed

·       Ensuring implementation of the plan, reviewing targets, monitoring progress using consistent measurement, and taking corrective action as required

·       Proactively supporting manufacturing areas within site with all maintenance requests

·       Ensure Planned Maintenance (PM) actions including Critical PM’s (CPM) are completed, ensure effective recovery plan(s) in place for any missed PM’s

Our ideal Engineering Supervisor will have passion for delivering our customer orders whilst making sure our high Health and Safety, Food Safety and Product Quality standards are met.

You will be comfortable working in a chilled food processing environment.

·       Apprentice trained

·       Leadership qualification e.g. relevant ILM level 3

·       NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either a mechanical or electrical discipline

·       Understanding of Root Cause Analysis techniques

·       Understands the importance of value when specifying parts, requirements etc.

·       Previous experience leading a technical team, being the senior Engineering out of hours contact for all issues
